Prior to your arrival at UCR, you will need to review all materials below and submit the information requested. Please be sure to check back regularly.

After Admissions Requirements

Reminder: If you have not already, be sure to submit all required academic transcripts to UCR Graduate Admissions Office.

  • Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)

Please submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by the stated deadlines through the Graduation Application portal. You will then be issued a Student ID number and PermPIN.

  • Statement of Legal Residence
  • Immunization Requirement

All students must submit required health documentation to Student Health Services.

  • E-Mail Accounts

Please verify and ensure you have access to your e-mail accounts, also known as R'mail. Your R'mail will serve as the primary form of communication and receiving all UCR and program-related emails.

  • R'Card and SOM Identification Cards

The UCR ID Card (R’Card) is your multi-functional campus identification card that connects you to dining plans, library resources, printing services, building access (door key), free campus events, and more. All incoming students will be required to submit headshots for the issuance of the R’Card and SOM identification cards. Instructions with a link will be provided to you prior to orientation.

  • Direct Deposit in R'Web

All financial aid and graduate and/or postdoctoral fellowship disbursements are posted on the student account online. Update your financial institution direct deposit for convenient access to funds.

  • Personal Information and Change of Address

You can update or change your local and/or permanent address or phone number by clicking on the Personal Information icon in R’Web. You should also update your graduate student services advisor when you move.

  • Orientations

    Biomedical Sciences New Student Orientations

All incoming graduate students must attend the BMSC new student orientations. The Ph.D. orientation will take place during the first week of July and is required for all students to be onsite. The M.S. orientation will take place during the month of August. Details on each of these events will be sent through email. Topics covered will include degree requirements and milestones, course selection and registration for first term, mandatory trainings, onboarding requirements, ID/badges and facility access, and student resources.

If you have not received information by June 1st, please reach out to the Student Services Advisor.

    Graduate Division Orientation

In addition to attending the Biomedical Sciences orientation, all graduate students are required to complete the Graduate Division virtual student orientation before the start of the quarter. An email with further instructions will be sent 1 - 3 days after your acceptance (SIR) is recorded in the online application system. A Graduate Division hold will be placed on your record and cleared as soon as you complete the orientation. Be sure to login to the orientation with your student credentials to ensure that the hold is lifted. Wait until the hold is placed on your record before you start the orientation or the system will not reflect the completion correctly.

    Virtual Graduate Student Orientation

The orientation is an informative and helpful resource to get your graduate career started off right and won't take more than an hour. You will be able to save your progress and return later if you aren't able to complete it in one session.

Please reach out to Grad Success with any questions.

  • Laboratory Safety and Online Training

All incoming graduate students must complete several online training modules prior to the first day of orientation. To login, be sure to use your UCR netID. Modules can be accessed via UC Learning Center
